Summer is Ending
Summer is coming to a close for us as the girls start school next week! This has truly been a wonderful summer and I am sad to see it end. No, really! We have had a great vacation, lots of fun days, fun camps and plenty of lazy days in between. We haven’t done every thing on our summer list but we’ve done a lot. Pool days, shopping, day trips and lots of library time and baking happened. I am looking forward to fall with cooler temps, fall sports (the girls are doing soccer and softball!) and all of the fun holidays. Also, a regular schedule is always appealing, at least until January. 😉
I have been ever so slowly working on the dining room…between buying the toddler a new big girl bed and back to school shopping for two the budget has been redirected temporarily. Some progress has been made though, new paint, new art and a new bench for starters. I have narrowed down my chandelier choices but the scale for the small room is hanging me up. Also, the big question, to rug or not to rug? I have small kids so right now I am leaning towards no rug. Also the room is so small and open to the kitchen and living areas. I worry a rug will disrupt the visual flow…but rugs do make a room and can be so cozy and such a showpiece. See my dilemma? 😉 Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!
Fall is definitely on my radar and I am starting to think of all things cozy and fall-ish. Bring on the pumpkins! Too soon? Do you get excited for fall in August or just hang on to the last bit of summer? I think I am doing a little of both actually!
